Della Delacroix is the well-to-do daughter of a famous Merryville inventor, Charles Delacroix. Behind closed doors, Della helped her father come up with a new flying contraption. When Della supports her father at his exhibition show, an explosion sends her world upside down. Kidnapped by the handsome crime lord of the Merryville Outskirts-Lucas Clarke, Della relies on new friend Caroline O'Neill to escape captivity. When a tragic fate befalls Della and her father, she makes her way back to Lucas and begins to fall for the man that took her hostage. Della soon finds herself wrapped up in Lucas's world while she discovers she also has feelings for her best friend, Caroline.
