The University: hidden truth about the unknown
Updated at Dec 26, 2024, 01:10
Mira is staying at a friend's place who convinces her to move to this small town far far away and takes admission in her university so she can live with her friend. Her friend Nora was like really close to her and felt a connect as if she was her sister. Mira and Nora met online rhrough a game few months ago. Mira agrees to move in with her to her small town. Mira was really scared. New people, new place. Mira was worried whether she will survive the change in culture and unfamiliar place. Nora introduced Mira to her friends and they started talking about the changes inUniversity. Where was Mira from? While talking, Mira noticed a lot of people whispering and talking about leaving the campus missing the day and classes. So Mira asked her friend, hey, what is happening? Don't people enjoy spending time after classes? And the friend looked at the rest of her friends and they stared at each other. Their faces turned pale and they were hesitant in answering. So Nora asked again. Hey guys. I mean I moved here to enjoy university experience. Tell me what is wrong and Nora said no dear We are scared to stay back any moment. After 4:00 PM strange things start happening. If you do that, you start seeing things and bad things can happen to you. We prefer leaving early to make sure we leave the campus gate and nearby well before time, she says. What? I don't believe. What are you saying? I mean, we are adults and educated. I don't believe in such things. Friend says whatever you believe, Promise me you will meet me by 2:45 PM outside your class and we will leave together. Mira , even though in disbelief, said she didn't wish to disagree with Nora and her friends and she agreed to do as Nora said. Mira also instructed, if in distress, to call any of her friends immediately and forwarded their numbers to her. She agreed. Mira was however, disappointed that Nora never told her while asking her to move. They all then went to their separate classes. Mira was a student of Fine Arts and a dreamer. Wherever she found unexplored beauty, she would just go exploring. One day in her class the teacher was telling them the art of shapes and sharing details. Mira being new, was seated at the last row in the room and was listening to the teacher carefully while on occasion looking outside the window and thinking, oh, how beautiful and amazing the university garden looks. If only I could sit there after classes and sketch in my sketchbook. How wonderful would that be? Mira could not resist and stop the teacher by raising her hand. She asked him. Excuse me Sir, this is a beautifully maintained garden in a university campus but no one is there. Is it because everyone is in classes or like no one has a free. Or are we simply not allowed in the garden? The teacher in a slow voice asked her. Are you new? You are new, aren't you? Mira said yes and you are not from here. Around here, I presume? Mira said yes. I am from North India Please. Teacher then said, Oh big city girl, are you well? I want you to remember, never believe your eyes when something looks too good to be true because it might not be there, it might not be true. The teacher then continued to say I want you to be safe so as long you are in the campus or within 5 kilometers radius from the campus, stay with the crowd is preferably known people, she said. OK Sir. She was disappointed but did not wish to argue with the teacher or create a bad impression. With this being her first day, the bell rings and she moves to her next class, slowly and slowly getting dulled with the thoughts of what her friend and the teacher said. During the day, the 2:45 bell rings and Mira stood outside her class waiting for Nora to join her so she could leave with her while people from other classes were leaving and passing by in the hallway. While waiting for her friend and looking towards the direction she was to come from she noticed a girl from the crowd was constantly staring at her and as soon as she came in front she stopped on the other side of the hall and kept staring.Mira couldnt stop looking at this strange girl, even though this crowd was passing through she felt being pulled into her eyes and even the gush of wind from the passing crowd did not break her eye contact.A few moments after that her friend Nora just came in front of her by surprise and said sorry sorry i got stuck in the crowd as everyone was trying to leave at the same time.Mira still in shock as if she was frozen did not respond. Nora shook her a little and asked hey you okay? what you staring at? is everything alright.Mira did not respond and jus bent to the side to aee if the girl was still there or not but she was gone.Nora in a rush took Mira by hand and said lets go we need to leave the campus we dont want to be late, its a long walk to the exit gate for the University. Mira and Nora walk fast towards the gate while Mira was still wondering about the strange girl and the weird feeling and the way she kept staring at her

Mira had always craved adventure but never expected it would come in the form of an invitation from Nora, a friend she met online just months ago through a game. Nora was warm, like the sister Mira never had, and when she suggested Mira move to her quiet, picturesque town and enroll in the same university, Mira hesitated. New people, a new place—it was overwhelming. Yet, drawn by Nora's charm and the promise of a close bond, she agreed. From the moment she arrived, Mira felt uneasy. The small town seemed too quiet, the kind of silence that pressed against your chest. Nora introduced her to her friends, a lively group who peppered Mira with questions about her life and why she chose to come. Mira enjoyed the attention, but something felt off. The air buzzed with whispers, and she noticed how students hurried to leave the campus after classes, their eyes darting nervously. Curious, Mira asked, "Why is everyone in such a rush? Don’t people hang out after class?" Her question froze the group. They exchanged glances, their expressions clouding with dread. Nora hesitated before whispering, "We don’t stay here after 3:45 PM. By 4:00, strange things happen. If you linger…you see things. And bad things happen." Mira laughed nervously, refusing to believe such superstitions. “Come on, Nora. We’re adults. This isn’t some ghost story!” But Nora’s pale face remained serious. “Promise me,” she said firmly, “you’ll meet me by 2:45 every day. We’ll leave together.” Reluctantly, Mira agreed, though she couldn’t shake her disappointment. Why hadn’t Nora warned her about this before she moved? Still, she brushed it off as local folklore—until her first class. Mira, a Fine Arts student with a dreamer’s heart, found herself enchanted by the beauty of the campus. From her seat at the back of the classroom, she gazed longingly at the lush garden outside, its vibrant flowers and swaying trees practically begging to be sketched. She raised her hand. “Sir, why is the garden always empty? Are we not allowed there?” The teacher’s smile vanished. His voice dropped to a low, careful tone. “You’re new here, aren’t you?” Mira nodded. “Then listen closely,” he said. “Never trust your eyes when something looks too perfect. Beauty can lie. And whatever you do, stay with others. Don’t wander alone.” His words sent a chill through her. She nodded, too unnerved to argue. As the day wore on, Mira grew increasingly unsettled. At 2:45, she waited outside her classroom for Nora. Students flooded the hallways, their footsteps echoing, their faces tense. Among the crowd, a girl caught Mira’s attention. She stood still, her pale face expressionless, her unblinking eyes locked on Mira. The world seemed to slow. The chatter of the hallway faded, replaced by a ringing in Mira’s ears. The girl’s gaze was magnetic, pulling her in, drowning her in an eerie silence. She wanted to look away but couldn’t. “Mira!” Nora’s voice broke the spell, and Mira blinked as her friend grabbed her arm. “Sorry, I got stuck in the crowd,” Nora said breathlessly. “Let’s go!” But Mira didn’t move. Her eyes darted back to where the girl had stood—empty now, as though she’d vanished into thin air. “What’s wrong?” Nora asked, her voice tinged with worry. Mira shook her head, muttering, “Nothing… I thought I saw someone.” Nora tugged her forward. “No time for that. We have to go.” As they hurried to the campus gate, Mira felt a gnawing unease. The girl’s haunting stare stayed with her, a phantom etched into her mind. Nora’s voice faded into background noise as Mira’s thoughts spiraled. Who was she? And why did it feel like her gaze carried a warning Mira couldn’t understand? The sun dipped lower in the sky, casting long shadows across the path. And with each step toward the gate, Mira felt as though something—someone—was watching.
