One mans obsession became his very undoing.

I was young when the onests of a mans obsession became his unravelling. It was a hot summers day, i got off the bus from travelling to what seemed an eternity, my surf board in hand back pack on shoulders high hopes for a surf, trudging through the hot paved streets of hervey bay where i sought out water. Inner thoughts me being me i glanced in the direction of what appeared to be a local, bronzed skin, to what i thought to be a step below the shade of a leather hyde, he was friendly enough he pointed me in the direction of the beach, when i reach the moist sands edge, the water was tettoring in and out ever so slowly reaching my feet then away it went as though to only tease my toes. i was lost in my own thoughts when i looked up almost bumping into a tanned bloke with sandy blonde hair, he shimmered like those vamps off twilight i thought to myself. "excuse me" id said apoligetically. "im not from here." short pause, i continued to say, "im taken aback by the scenery, how uncanily similar it was to where i was from, only difference is theres no waves what a bummer." To which he replied, " Im not from here either." I blushed as he was not at all a bad looker, he resembled a cross between if luke sky walker and paul walker had a three way with a women of western descendence. tada let your imagination run wild with that one. With that we parted ways. i presumed my adventure along the beach side, to where i found a bunch of high rise buildings with yellow ralings stuck out like a sore thumb, not far from there infact was a bunch of aussies on the piss, i was hollored over almost beckoned i felt, at first i wasnt keen on going anywhere near them especially intoxicated, as i grew up in an alcohol fueled environment i knew better of it. I over heard one of them saying someones name i was vaguely familiar with that he had a spare room to rent. i sauntered over and politely interupted the boys yarn. "Sorry to eaves drop," i looked down kicked the sand looked back at them all while saying, "heard you know of a room to rent." they all piped up in unisin, i could barely understand them, to me drinking in the hot sun sure can make the effects more intense. A convo erupted between them it was rather distasteful, so i left my number with them and off i went my seperate way. In hopes the person I knew not exactly well was in better condition then his fellow friends to communicate with. As i was engrossing myself in the local surroundings i found the perfect spot to set up to go for a swim as surfing was out of the question as there was next to no waves not but a ripple like it was a giant lake that had rising and falling tides. the veach was all but empty, rock boulder and plenty of trees palms of nearly every variety along the shoreline, so i stuck my surf board as deep in the wet sand as i could get without damaging her that is then set off into the water, i was in luck with high tide, so it wasnt far to walk to water. As i was swimming a small school of fish swam by investigating me and eventually pecking at my feet scared the bageebas outta me, i imagine they were eating the dead skin folicals that were starting to soften in the warm salty water, it obviously made for a scrumption meal as they wouldnt quit it. id had a enough of fish invading my personal space. i walked on my palms in the water as my body afloat behind me till i was in the shallows, just in time to as i heard my phone ring in the bag i hung off my surf board covered by my towel i grabbed my towel answering phone, as i did so it was a tad tedias as i had wet fingers. "Hello KD speaking" i said as i continued to wipe myself down in search of a shower to wash the salty water off me. "ah gday long time no see" a familiar voice boomed heartily through the phone. "Get outta town" i scoffed, "ive not seen nor heard from you since i was pre-teens how the heck are ya mickey" i hollard with sweet delight. "Not to bad, not to bad at all, hmmmm now the boys have bought it to my attention you're seeking a room? queried mick. "You got that right, so can you help a sheila out" i blurted. "Why dont you make your way to beach road n we'll pick you up" chimmed blaire in the background. at that we said goodbye i packed my stuff up made my way across the road where not but 15 meters away mick stood there staring me down. "Woah" said blaire n mick in unison, "uh you sure aint a baby no more" i laughed at that sentiment, "well hormones do wonders aha". At that we set of for the yellow railed skyrise units with a view to die for, golden sand meet a broad engulfment of water oh and a sunrise you couldnt get enough of well so id been told. The car ride was short but exciting as exited the vehicle we went past the pool the waters color was so alluering before i knew it i blurted out " were definately christening that" as i felt the blood rush to my face and my cheek turn a velvet red as it came out entorely the wrong way the boys burst into a fit of giggles.
