Thirty Steps
Updated at Mar 8, 2019, 08:37
James Alexander is a 23-year-old wannabe marine biologist working at a coffee counter in a cinema foyer. Thirty steps away, 19-year-old amateur filmmaker Bailey Thompson works at the snacks counter adjacent to his. Six attempts at asking Bailey out and James gives up, witnessing, three days after his most recent confession, a kiss between Bailey and a young girl closer to his age. Sad and unwilling to co-operate with his colleague Luke, he is dragged to a gay club to meet guys, where a certain blond haired movie fanatic is sitting alone at the bar, drinking his suffering away.

When the IAVEM released the chemical, the human race was sealed in its fate. Euphoria was wiped out, and the rest of the world's population was left to depend on a ship from Saturn that appeared in the sky. Life was fine. The race on Saturn were kind to the refugees, until the refugees weren't kind to them, and the twelve century war broke out, which the humans won and used to take everything from the people who saved them from extinction. A city was built by the humans with the technology the Saturn natives were stripped of, and the redskins were forced out of their homes and into the fields beyond the outskirts of the city. They were outcasts on their own planet, and their race had been cut down to a bare hundred men and women from millions. Utterly defeated. The humans continued their lives. Four clans were defined by religion but they worked in tandem with each other peacefully, learning from the mistakes of their ancestors, and they used their peace to create a race of warriors to protect their city. The Urita, or URPA (Urita Ranger Protection Agency). The four clans created their boundaries within the city, a different decoration style for each. The Fanara: green, The Lemure: blue, The Renay: red, and The Dartes: purple. Their colours defined their version of the human condition, and the system worked. Until the Fanara broke the one rule that all clans followed, and their Utopian society started to break down.
