Tamara Stevens never believed in fate. Fate was something people with too much time and too little homework dreamed about. Her reality was far less magical: coffee-stained uniforms, endless shifts, and trying to keep her little sister from eating cereal for dinner every night.
So when she stumbled into him, it felt like a mistake. A dangerous one.
“Fuck, baby,” Stefan’s voice was a low growl against her neck, the kind that made her knees weaken even though every part of her brain screamed to push him away. “You can’t say things like that to me. I want to, too. More than you know.”
Her breath hitched as his hand slid down, strong and possessive, until his fingers pressed exactly where she was aching for him. A moan escaped before she could stop it.
“But—” his lips brushed her throat, his tongue finding that one spot that made her see stars, “I need to build you up to that first.”
When he pushed his fingers deeper, Tamara’s body betrayed her, responding to his every stroke. Heat pooled low in her stomach, dizzying, impossible to deny.
“You feel that?” Stefan murmured, his voice dark silk. “My fingers inside you, dripping for me?” He licked the side of her neck, claiming her as if she already belonged. “My dick will stretch you so much more. When I finally fuck you… you’ll be sore for days. And you’re going to love every second of it.”
Tamara squeezed her eyes shut. This wasn’t supposed to be happening. She wasn’t supposed to want him. Because Stefan Kane wasn’t just any man—he was the Alpha. And she… she was only human.
