Mated to the Demon Luna

I stared at the destruction all around me, an entire pack had been wiped out in a single night. This wasn't the first time, nor would it be the last if the reports I'd heard were anything to go by. Still, the stench of scorched earth and flesh was never one I could get used to. "My prince, you need to see this." My father's Beta called out, his voice was thick and hoarse. I turned and walked through the desolation to find him in the burned pack-house. Only the frame of the house was left, the three story building no longer standing. Everything had been wiped away. The beta held out a crystal ball, a relic my father had managed to purchase from a witch's shop in Japan. She had told him it was capable of showing the past, up to 24 hours. I took it and peered within the milky white haze only for my heart to stop in my chest. "No. No this can't be..." I felt my stomach threaten to release dinner. "She's... She was dead. I smelled the decay. How is this possible?" I didn't know why I was asking him, after all she had been his long lost daughter. The despair he had felt upon finding her was on par with my own, at finding the corpse of my mate before I even had the chance to know her. To love her. Yet standing within the crystal ball was the woman I had seen all those years ago, but the milky dead blue eyes I had memorized were full of life. And hatred. She stood in the center of the pack-house with a torch, tossing it to a fuel soaked floor before stepping out into the darkness. She'd killed them all. She'd destroyed an entire pack, and I knew she was behind all the others too. My mate was the most wanted criminal in the empire right now. "What do we do now?" My father's beta asked, his voice thick with heartache and fear. I wish I had an answer for him, because as of right now we were hunting down my mate and his daughter to put on trial and ultimately sentence to death. I crushed the crystal ball, I had to get answers quickly before my father could get a hold of her. "Clean up anything left behind. We didn't see this. We still don't know whose behind these attacks." I turned and walked away.
