The plot of the story is set in the world of Viatores, who are able to use their dreams for time travel. The main female character, Wanna, is the first Viator who has only nightmares instead of dreams about the past and the future. Others look down on her and she has the lowest rank possible in their world. The only person she can rely on is her grandmother Ava, who tells her the legend of Maleficos, powerful sorcerers who lived centuries ago and guided Viatores through their adventures. According to legend, Viatores became corrupted and began to use their powers for personal gain. Maleficos abandoned them, because they saw that there is more evil than good in the hearts of every Viator. They created their own world which can be found only by a true Malefico. The least known part of the legend is that Maleficos made an unbreakable pact with Paracletus. The only thing grandma Ava knew about them was that they could shapeshift and that they were advocates and protectors of Maleficos. The story begins when Wanna has a lucid dream instead of her usual nightmares. Viatores are known for not being able to have lucid dreams. They can only witness the past. Though higher-ranked Viatores can have short visions of the future, they cannot change any past or future events. In a lucid dream, a person can invent anything their heart desires. In her first dream, Wanna came across her neighbour\'s cat, Benji. He told her they would meet in every dream and that he would be her guide. Benji lacks social skills and isn`t very nice to Wanna at first, but we can see through his actions that his heart is in the right place and that he cares about her a lot. Wanna starts to discover her hidden powers and learns how to use and control them. She suffers because Viatores do not accept her, so she leaves their world and starts looking for Maleficos and her Amare. Every Viator has their Amare, a partner they have been close with in many previous lives. According to their tradition, Vitatores go on a quest to find their Amare right after they gain their powers, which is usually around their 18th birthday. They have to dream through their past lives and discover who the person is, so they can find them in present life. If they choose the right person, they recognize each other and fall in love immediately, because the bond that they share is deep and unbreakable. If they fail that first test and they don`t find their love, they get the lowest rank in their world. Wanna dreams of gaining the true power of a Viator and finding her Amare.
