This story is one of a werewolf who loses her family suddenly, turning her life upside down. It involves hatred, death, pain, turmoil, desperation and then turns around to favour, a double portion and a happy ending, rare for a werewolf story, but it shows that even the most dismal of circumstances can be turned around. It had been a great life as a werewolf. Xalia doesn’t know what happens when she’s human. Xalia had a mate, Hezekiah, and two treasured cubs, Xavier and Extra. Then tragedy after tragedy occurred as Xalia endured the painful passing of her beloved mate and cubs all at once. Trying to save another cub, Hezekiah lost his life, and Xavier and Extra were defenceless as the panicked environment resulted in the four werewolves being killed. Xalia leaves her cubs unprotected in trying to recover Hezekiah’s whereabouts. Now, without a mate, without offspring, Xalia is persecuted by the other werewolves. They would slander, ridicule, and physically attack her. Her only family was the elders who were accepted, but they wouldn’t help her. Xalia’s lot was despair. Xalia lives in shame and reproach. She could not protect her own and this makes her a target for being taunted.
