ABOUTquote
Ever since I was young, I always loved creative writing and sharing those stories with others. In grade school I made hand-written picture books for my friends. In high school continuing into college, I started writing novels. My career didn’t center around writing, however. I graduated from CSU Stanislaus with a BS major in Biology and minors in Chemistry and English and eventually became a microbiologist working in Food Science. Though my career path was vastly different, I have always wanted to pursue my dreams of writing. Now that I am a stay-at-home mother of three, I find I now have time to devote to my dreams of writing. I hope you enjoy my work and have a blessed day

My Bodyguard Is My Ex Boyfriend
Updated at Mar 5, 2024, 06:29
Brandy was on her way home from a night on the town when she, unfortunately, became the target of a drive-by shooting. She ended up crashing into a car and suffered head trauma. When first responders arrived, someone from her past came to mind. To protect his family, Brandy's father hires a bodyguard. Unfortunately, Nathaniel Jansen, her cheating high school ex-boyfriend, is now her bodyguard. She has no way to convince her father to change his mind. When Nathaniel and Brandy are forced to work together, she realizes that her feelings for him haven't changed, even though he has broken her heart. While they are dealing with their emotions and trying to come to some sort of understanding, Axel Ross, the senator's son, accuses Brandy's father of running a smear campaign. After providing ample evidence that her father was framed, Brandy is determined to work with Axel to get to the bottom of the matter and try to get out from under his father's accusations. However, as they work together, Axel admits his growing feelings for Brandy and she finds herself in a hot love triangle. Can they get to the bottom of this scandal before an innocent man is ruined? Will they survive the skeletons hanging in Brandy's father's closet? *** Excerpt: “Did he kiss you?” I nodded, unable to find my voice. A low, primal growl left Nate’s chest. He slid into the driver’s seat before hauling me into the car with him. Slamming the door closed, he was instantly in motion. He buried a hand in my hair before slamming his lips against mine. He felt so damn good, I couldn’t stop. “Tell me Brandy,” Nate said gruffly, pulling my hair back with enough force to hold me still. “Did you like it when he kissed you?” “Yes,” I panted. “Did he make you burn with need? The kind you only feel with me?” I didn’t dare answer him, afraid of the consequences. Axel had indeed made me burn with a desire I hadn’t felt except when I was with Nate. How was I ever going to survive this?

Alone I stood. Alone I would stand. I was The Phoenix, and this was my land. Hear my battle cry, and run in fear, for all those who stood against me would die right here. The darkness was where I was born, the light my guidance, but in the shadowy grays is my residence. When archangels fall, and the world is cast in darkness, I will come to rein in it’s madness. I was a shadow. I was a whisper. I had to lose my identity to ensure my powers weren’t used against me. All that I loved had been ripped from me, a threat to use them against me if I chose to be Constance. And so, she had to stay in spirit in purgatory, so as to ensure the world’s safety. As I stood before Balthazar, I shed her name and cast out a new one. A name that would eventually grow and strike fear into the very evil that threatened my world. I was a phantom. A shadow. I was Eidolon. The Immortal Council fell into Victor’s trap. Half breeds were now being rounded up and taken to be murdered in masses. They didn’t realize this was the first step he would take to overthrow them. No one was safe. But that’s why I had been made. Why I had been chosen. I was the one who could stand against such evil and overcome its temptations. I was the only one who could rise above the ashes and become The Phoenix.

Phoenix (Book Two of the Forbidden Trilogy)
Updated at Dec 14, 2021, 07:48
When you wake up in someone else’s body, it tends to throw you for a loop. At least I knew whose body I was in. Not long ago, I’d learned the devastating secrets hidden in my family’s closet, which had led to the revelation my twin sister, Celeste—who I had been told was dead since birth—was alive, healthy and planning on killing me to start a revolution. Not her revolution, though. Victor’s. The immortal who'd been so severely wronged by my family decided to seek revenge against them and every other member in the Immortal Councils for any injustices caused. While I impatiently waited for this body to accept my soul, and regain my strength, Nikolai, Gabriel, Matt and Erwin were fast at work trying to gain Celeste’s trust. To show her what true, selfless love looked and felt like, because heaven knew Victor only ever fronted his affections for her. Since her birth he had abused her, forsaken her, and broken her in every way imaginable until she was just an obedient puppet. I wanted her to know what real life was like, to know the difference between Victor’s kind of love and real love. I was confident, if we succeeded in doing this, she would turn on her own against Victor and help us win this war. This did not overshadow the main reasons for why I was now a ghost. As my crew faced the daunting task of secretly turning Celeste, I had my own agendas to follow. Thankfully, only a few short weeks into my recovery I was visited by one of the Angelic Deities in the HIC. He’d found me after realizing Celeste was not who she said she was. After listening to my story, he decided to lend me his help in gaining a conference with his fellow Archangels. His suggestion on how to do that, though, was terrifying to say the least and would push me to the limits of everything I knew, to the very limits of my existence. Time would tell if either one of us was strong enough to rise like a phoenix from the ashes we had been chained in, or if we would ultimately perish.

COMPLETED (Book One of The Knight Necromancer Series) I was a single father who survived an abusive relationship, but let’s not talk about that because it’s taboo and unmanly for men such as myself to even admit to having been through such horrid things. What’s important, is that I was able to save my children from her. I ran far away with them, started a new life. Everything was going well, my beloved children were finally settling into their new life and routine and then life had to go and pull the rug out from under me again. Not only was there a serial killer haunting the streets and targeting young children, I was fired from my job, and desperately searching for a new one and running out of money and time… Determined not to fall back into the desperate life my kids and I had just escaped from, I took on a short-term gig with the band Knight Necromancers. I thought this was going to be an easy, in-between job that would keep me afloat. And then I met Jadea, the lead singer, and my life was never the same again. She was young. A lot younger than me, but with her I felt more alive than I’d ever been. There had been an instant connection both of us felt. She helped heal the deep, cavernous wounds that my ex-wife left. She was everything I needed to become the man I desperately wanted to be. But I wasn’t sure we would be able to survive the secrets and lies hiding in her closet. Especially when it led me and my family into the fabled immortal world, and ended up placing my daughter straight into the hands of the serial killer Jadea and her werewolf pack were hunting… Could love and trust survive such betrayal?

What happens when everything you thought was reality wasn’t? After years of believing our memories had been lost from the result of a car accident, my cousin and I found out we—and many others—had been manipulated by an immortal sorcerer. Come to find out, my family had proceeded with such a complex spell when I, at a tender young age, had come forward and declared I’d found my soul mate in the form of the forbidden Gabriel Kingly, a demon half-breed. Demons were known as soulless, evil beings who were dangerous and conniving. They couldn’t be trusted. They were loveless beings because of their lack of a soul. Therefore, my declaration was seen as everything but genuine. Since we had declared ourselves at such a young age, my family begged the Immortal Council—the law, judge, jury and executioners of the land—for time. Time to find either proof of other, secret and successful mating bonds between demons and other immortals, or to give me time to mature and understand the severity of what such a declaration of forbidden love meant. Even though more than a decade had passed, the curse held strong, only breaking when my demonic ex tried killing me on Halloween night. As chaos ruled on that fateful all-hallows-eve, scandalous secrets from my family’s past came into sharp repose, one of them relating to the reprehensible disappearance of my twin sister. Even though breaking the memory spell had left Gabriel’s and my relationship on the rocks, I at least knew my sister was alive and I knew how I could save her. The fallout, though, was going to have dire consequences. I just hoped my sacrifice, my death would help reconcile bonds and promises broken and give Gabriel and I a shot at breaking the irrefutably negative stigma surrounding demons.
