My name is Chiamaka Innocento Ovuoh, but most people call me Zinny. I'm a writer, story teller, and the chronic over sharer behind Zinny's Stories. I was born and raised in Lagos, and shaped by the beautiful chaos of Nigeria life— the traffic gist, the "you don't have data moments", and the stubborn hope that keeps us going.
My love affair with stories started before I could spell stories. As a child, I was that girl, that would stay inside creating stories in my head, while my siblings go out to play. I filled numerous notebooks with stories about families, girls who went abroad to study e.t.c.
Junior secondary school made it worse. I wrote letters for classmates to their crushes. I charged 100 naira per love notes. I wrote different essays assignment for them.
I'm not just a writer; I'm a listener. My superpower is finding the extraordinary in ordinary people. Market women, single moms, NYSC corpers— if you have to live it,I can tell it.
My vision is to become Africa's most trusted storytelling platform, the first place people go when they want to feel, laugh, cry and remember they are not alone.
My mission is to document, celebrate, and amplify real African experiences through storytelling that entertains, heals and connects people across backgrounds.
