Belonging is not given to you twice. The story asks what a person owes the place that raised her once that place has shown her it can love someone else more easily.
Raine spends the whole book proving she does not need the club to know who she is, and the real turn is not when she rides back through the gate, it is when she stops needing anyone's permission to be Duke Delacroix's daughter.
Love, in this book, is not rescue. It is somebody choosing to stand where they stood before, even after they watched you get pushed out.
