Pika the opossum, True Story...once upon a time a little girl named Brianna and her dad went for a walk one evening, to their surprise they saw a tiny baby opossum scared and cold laying on the side of the road. Pika was lost, hungry, scared, and was new to the world and she couldn't find her mommy. Brianna was a animal lover, she adored all animals of the world, she wanted to help and make all animals happy and make sure they all was loved most of all she was not afraid to touch any animal. Brianna picked pika up very gentle and wrapped her up in her sweater to warm her up. Pika never seen a human before so you can imagine how scared she was, she Immediately hide her head. Briannas dad had Brianna take pika home while he rushed to the store to get pet supplies like baby bottle for baby animals, formula and he had to search online to find out more about opossums. Neither Brianna or her dad knew anything about opossums. The first night was scary for everyone, they didn't know if pika would make it through the night and had no clue how the opossum would react staying with humans. The opossum was very, very tiny. Pika was as big as a cupcake. Brianna and pika sleep together all night long. Pika made it through the night, everyone was so happy. Brianna researched about opossums and found lots of interesting things. opossums age very fast, Pika was a ground up opossum less than a year and 3 years old she would be an old lady. Their life span is so short. We knew that we wouldn't have very long with pika so we wanted to make sure we spent lots of time with her, showed her lots of love, spoiled her rotten. Pika changed our lives, she brought so much love and happiness into our hearts and lifes. I feel inlove with pika, I never loved an animal like the way I loved her. Opossums are so gentle, patient, sweet, and smart. Pika put smiles on our faces every single time we saw her, she made our grumpyness or anger change just like that, she was amazing and I wanted to share with the world my experiences with her. opossums have bad raps and its all false things said about them. opossums don't deserve the hate that everyone has toward them. The world can be so close minded and mean.
