The Edge of Hope
Updated at Aug 25, 2023, 23:00
All Hope Whitfield has ever wanted is to get her degree out of her way and finally become the accomplished person she’s always wanted to be, a far cry from the orphaned, diner-employed girl she’s been since eighteen. But inspiration is a finicky thing and comes in a form she could have never expected. Dr Gabriel Knight is a renowned psychiatric researcher who has been a major influence in Hope’s life and when a chance encounter gives her the chance to finish her thesis, she jumps at the opportunity. She never expected a love so strong to grow between them. Science doesn’t say anything about soulmates, but Hope is sure she has found hers. Dr Gabriel Knight has found his spark in an unassuming green-eyed girl, and the pull he feels towards her is beyond anything he could have thought real. After his own disaster of an ex-wife and losing funding for his research, he was ready for a life with Hope and having purpose again. A tragedy, heartbreak and a journey of self-discovery, Hope and Gabriel’s love will be tested to its limits. How will they survive?

Finally (A Law Enforcement Romance)

“I told you I am in control. If you resist me, I will deny you any pleasure. Understood?” Gabe’s eyes were nearly black and his grip tightened on my thighs. I couldn’t respond. I could not form a coherent sentence. He hovered over me and grabbed my hair, making me look up at him. “I said do you understand, Jodi?” I simply nodded, and whispered, “Yes, I understand.” He smirked and got back onto his knees. “Good girl. I’m going to make you feel so good, baby.” ** Sergeant Gabe Matthews was everything I wanted, but the trauma that our professions scarred us with was driving a sharp knife between us. He was cold where I ran hot. He was distant where I got too close. Would our demons push us over the edge or would we finally take a step towards each other and fight them together? TRIGGER WARNING - Mentions of suicide. A dream sequence of child abuse/molestation is written in Italics in Chapter 9. It is not super detailed but may be upsetting to some readers.
