The May Ball. The city hosts an annual Ball every May. All women over the age of 21 must attend and men must attend once they turn 25, however they can come as long as they are over 21. Amie has spent her life being made to feel less they by her family as she is curvy. She doesn't fit the ideals her mother has set out for her. Her father unwilling to do anything but follow his wife's lead, at least gives Amie the chance at further education. Something he figured would give her the chance to have a life if she didn't make it on the marriage market. Amie keeps secrets, she helps businesses in her spare time, slowly building up enough money so one day she can leave this place and her family behind. The only thing keeping her from running - Her best friend Daisy, and the fact she is so close to finally finishing her business and accounting degree at university. Josh has come back to town, he just won a major construction contact for his fathers company, he and Cam his best friend are the future, after spending most of this life in boarding school and then collage abroad he returns just in time for the May Ball, although 24 his best friend is keen to find himself a princess to spoil and love. Will the future turn bright for Amie? Time will tell.
