With her task done, Proserpina gently tugged off of her gloves and half-turned away from him, the shadows already growing to take her home… but Alastor suddenly held his hand out, his fingers very nearly touching the shadow as he stood up, as if intending to follow her. At that, Proserpina wordlessly commanded the shadows to disperse all at once before it stole his. She glared at the stormy skies, her gaze tired and accusing because she was so certain that somewhere out there in the clouds, way up high in Mount Olympus... there was a certain goddess of love laughing while watching Proserpina's current dilemma. Then again, it could be Eros for all she knew… "Are you deaf or are you dense?" Proserpina snapped, not bothering to look behind her, "I am not interested." "Is this because I'm a werewolf?" –Excerpt from Chapter IV: Touch Me Not Descent is created by Ataraxia, an eGlobal Creative Publishing signed author.

What Lies Beneath the Sea
Updated at Mar 17, 2022, 20:39
It told me once that it came from the distant void of space where stars lived and die but now, it found itself slumbering within the depths of earth's ocean, a being once worshipped by elder gods now better left forgotten. Teetering on the verge of waking but not quite, not yet... something that has fallen but never dies continues to wait till the oceans run dry so it may rise once more, till the sun extinguishes itself and all life ceases to exist in this world. It dreams of horrible, hopeful dreams. For this is the way of things beyond life on earth that should have died but failed to stay dead. For as long they still retain their will to exist, to live and still have bodies–however scattered, buried or broken–they would still remain in this world. …Until even death may die.
