Mending the enemyUpdated at Aug 26, 2025, 08:56
In the secluded and secured country of Velisar, justice isn't only found in courts but from dreams. Skilled dreamwalkers step into the unconscious to retrieve the truth buried deep within the mind. When Councilor Marek is assassinated, the only witness is his daughter, Detective Denise Shala, who falls into a mysterious coma. Trapped in a coma, Denise cannot speak and cannot testify.
To uncover the truth, the Justice Council calls on Maxim Veil, a disgraced dreamwalker with a past he'd rather forget. He has sworn never to step into the realm of the subconscious again until now. Reluctantly, he agrees to enter Denise’s mind, which he didn’t expect to be filled with memories of pure chaos, distorted by grief and pain, and something else. As Maxim journeys deeper into her memories, he finds false confessions, traumatic scenarios, and a hidden presence manipulating her thoughts from within. Someone else is in her mind. Someone who doesn’t want the truth to be found.
As Maxim delves deeper, he would soon realize the real enemy isn’t just in the dream but in the people who sent him there. And at the edge of his investigation, he’d soon make a choice if everything would be worth his own life.
In a world where memories lie, can he uncover a murder, or will he lose himself trying?
