Writing at the Intersection of Neon and Heartbreak
Welcome to my corner of the digital sprawl. I’m Eveline Harlow Rayne, and I write stories where the heartbeat matters just as much as the tech.
I have always been fascinated by the friction between humanity and the future. My work explores the Altered Carbon-style questions of what makes us who we are when our surroundings—and even our bodies—are constantly shifting. But at the core of every high-tech setting I build, you will find the same thing: raw, unfiltered drama, complicated romance, and the kind of angst that lingers long after the final page.
I am a lover of vintage machinery, quiet moments in nature, or complex character studies, and I draw inspiration from the gritty aesthetics of cyberpunk or the timeless pain of classic tragic romance.
When I’m not lost in the neon-lit worlds of my own creation, you can usually find me walking my dog, learning photography, cooking and baking, or hunting for the perfect vintage pattern.
My goal is to craft stories that challenge your perspective on the future while capturing the timeless, messy reality of the human heart.
Join me on this journey through the dark and the beautiful.

In a city that never stops raining and never forgets a debt, Zarah Morgan is running out of time. Her partner and soulmate, Connor Callahan, has been framed for a crime he didn’t commit, his consciousness ripped from his body and trapped in a digital prison known as "the ice." Now, while his shell drifts in a state of suspended animation, Zarah is the only thing standing between him and permanent deletion. Hunted by the very department they once served and stalked by a lethal colleague turned headhunter, Zarah must navigate the treacherous, neon-drenched underworld of the city. With her family gone and her hope fading, she has nothing left to lose—which makes her the deadliest variable in the city’s corrupt game. She will tear the system down to find his soul, even if she has to burn the whole city to the ground to do it.
