Lexaniyah Shade just turned 19, and recently graduated from Hunter's Compound, where she trained since her parents up and left her at the age of seven. As one of the most lethal hunters, she sets out on her own, completing assignments given to her by her mentor. On a few nights she goes to The Pit, a secret fighting ring open to all shifters. Now, she must learn to work with a team on a new job. But, what begins as another ordinary assignment for this team, may soon become the key to unlocking her past. As her new team starts to grow on her, Lex must try harder to keep the other's from discovering her secret. Lex clashes with Spade, another hunter who she finds is as lethal as her, and who she must work with to lead this team. As Lex continues to put herself in dangerous situations, Spade grows more and more protective. Little does she know, Spade holds on to his own secret, which is getting harder and harder to keep as they grow closer. When things begin to take a turn for the worst, the two must decide if their secrets are really worth keeping.
