BORN LUCKYUpdated at Apr 3, 2024, 05:57
I’LL KILL YOU, YOU BITCH! I SWEAR I’LL KILL YOU!!” Amber screamed as she hurled her hot curling iron at me
With the injuries on my body, I barely dodged.
“AMBER!! Please stop! It’ll be bad if you kill her! I’ll have her apologize, okay?!” Jason, my husband, said as he grabbed Amber. He held her steadily in his arms as he prevented her from getting to me. He was trying to protect me, or at least that was what I wanted to believe. Especially after he had watched Amber beat me up for the past five minutes.
“How can you stand this thing? Huh? After all we had done for her, she dared to ask for a divorce? Doesn’t she know how badly that would affect my family and yours? She’s a fucking snake that’s what she is!” Amber raged on even though she was held down by Jason.
“Just ignore her, I’m sure she has learned her lesson now. Come on, let me get you a drink to calm down.” Jason cooed as he stroked Amber’s hair.
I watched them act with lidded eyes. One of my eyes was half open and I could barely see through it. The other was bloody red. I sat on the cold ground in raggedy clothing and my body was battered and covered in bruises and scratches—all done by my lovely sister, Amber.
My mind and heart were empty.
All in a span of a month after my graduation, my life had gotten worse.
I had lost my opportunity to get admission into a good college.
I was forced to marry someone I didn’t love and was forced into an abusive relationship.
My best friend betrayed me.
My parents betrayed me.
And my sister is fucking my husband. Oh, and she is also trying to kill me.
At that moment, for some reason, I remembered my mother’s words to me when I was young. She told me that was I was born lucky.
I wondered how true that was.
