My Twin Brother Sent My Bride Away On My Wedding Day.
Updated at Sep 20, 2022, 04:35
My wedding was around the corner and i felt like some in the clouds. I was getting married to the prettiest lady on earth and the whole world was going to witness me step out of bachelorhood. As i drove to the salon to pick her up, I thought of how we met and how wonderful the relationship had been. I met Wendy through my twin brother who worked as a stock broker in popular firm here in lagos before he traveled out of the country last year to get a Ph.D. Wendy was his Co-worker and he had always liked her as a good girl but because he was already married, he decided to introduce her to his twin brother who was the oldest bachelor in town me. Marriage had always scared me, to take that bold step and settle down with one woman had been my problem. When my brother, Chris got married last year, i was the best man and everybody was asking me why i didn't get married the same day as my identical twin brother. At his bachelor's eve, all our friends yabbed me until i nearly cried out of shame. "what are you waiting for to get married" One of them threw at me. "Maybe he is waiting to be the God father of his brother's sons first", another person threw at me and there was an outburst of laughter. "His problems is not even getting married, he can't fined a steady girl." They continued. "look, friends let forget about my brother. Let's enjoy ourselves tonight, I promise you all that i will give him a wife soon. Chris laughed. After the wedding, he invited me to his office and introduced me to his colleagues, Wendy. He extolled all her good qualities and told me that if he had not married, he would have married her. "she is a wife material," Chris told me when we were out of earshot. "l will give it a try," I promised. Giving Wendy a chance to be my girlfriend was the best thing that happened to me. She was a well groomed lady and a good person, always giving me useful advice that would do me good in the future. She was from a good home and a Christian. She was also an independent girl who knew her onions. We both were mature and there was no time for blushing and fooling around. We dated for eight months before my twin brother traveled out of the country to stay. That same month, we got engaged and started planning our wedding. That was all in the past now as we had already fixed the date for next month and my brother had promised to come back for the wedding. He had already volunteered to get us a wedding gown and a suit from there and also invite some of his foreign friends. On my part, I had told virtually the whole world that the time had finally come. I told every ear that cared to listen that i had found a wife at last. Most people who were coming for the wedding were coming to see who lucky woman was, especially the ladies. I was a ladies man and had dated over a hundred girls before finally meeting Wendy. In my school days, i was nicknamed James bond because of the way i changed women and easily manipulated them. I had no time to cling to a girl for longer than a month, when there were enough of them out there to sample. I was different from my twin brother, Chris who clung to a girl throughout our university days and later married her. He was more responsible than me and was always acting as if he was my elder brother not twin brother. "Frank, when will stop chasing these things in skirts" He asked me one day when i fought with a guy for snatching his babe "When they stop to exist." I was not remorseful at all.. "You want to ruin your life?" "who told you i want to ruin my life?“ " Get yourself a girlfriend and stop fighting over other people's girls." "Did i call you to fight for me?" That was in those days. I came out of school and continued. Chris was there to watch my back all the time. He was there to caution me when i went astray and was always there when i fell into trouble. I could remember when a prostitute nearly stripped me naked for not completing her money. "Frank, what's the noise all about" Chris rushed out of his room that wee hour to see me struggling with a girl. "He f..cked me all night and does not want to pay me correctly". "Frank, you mean you brought a prostitute into this house?" "Chris stop acting like my father, if you have some changes with you, let me have it to complete her money and let her go." After helping me to pay the girl off, Chris sat me down to tell me that i was too old for what i was doing. He reminded me that i had no permanent girlfriend and it was not good for a grown man like me. "Is it because we are living together, i am moving out soon!" i was so incorrigible. I moved out but my brother kept calling and watching my back. He tried to match make me with different girls but i was never serious until the day he told me that he was getting married. I felt like i was being left behind. I love my brother but i didn't like the way he always wanted me to do whatever he wanted. He was always telling me what to do. This time around, he had found a wife for me.
