Laura, an 18-year-old girl from Ashford, has always wanted freedom and not to be stuck in the village for her entire life. Stories had it that creatures capture young girls and ladies who wander into the woods around the village, but Laura neglects them even when her mother, Amelia, begs her not to think of escaping. One night, she gets up to escape, but meets a mysterious stranger who tells her he knows the right path through the woods if she wants to flee successfully to the other side of the world. Without hesitation, she follows. Now, she is trapped in hell as the Queen of Hell and wife to Lucifer. She gets all the power a Queen can get and even more, but she wants total freedom now and misses the old, quiet Ashford. Lucifer, on the other hand, wants her to be with him because he has feelings for her and needs her as a supporting ally for his empire. Will Laura ever be free?
