THE 2,000 NAIRA TRAPS
Updated at Oct 18, 2025, 05:22
My uncle invited me to join a village youth community, and i were hesitant at first but eventually i agreed after he mentioned a stipend of 2,000 naira per week.- At the meeting, I were surprised to be given the role of secretary, and when a question arose about accounting for 300,000 naira, i were asked to provide an explanation.- When i protested that i didn't know anything about the funds, I  started looking like a Christmas goat, my  uncle told you to shut up, and when i refused, he slapped me in front of everyone.- I managed to escape the situation by pretending to need to use the restroom and then running away like escaped goat 😄😄😄

The family meeting was held at Michael's house, and all the siblings were present. John sat quietly, wondering what the meeting was about. Michael cleared his throat and began to speak."John, you're growing up, and we need to discuss your future. Our parents passed away, and we're doing our best to take care of you. But we can't keep doing this forever."John looked at his siblings, feeling a mix of emotions. He knew they were trying to help, but he couldn't shake off the feeling that they were trying to get rid of him."What do you mean?" John asked, trying to sound calm."We've decided that it's time for you to start contributing to the family. You're old enough to work and earn a living. We'll support you in any way we can, but you need to start taking care of yourself," Michael explained.John felt a pang of disappointment. He had been hoping for something more, something that would allow him to pursue his dreams."But what about my education?" John asked, trying to plead his case."We'll support you through secondary school, but after that, you're on your own," Michael said firmly.John felt a lump form in his throat. He knew he had no choice but to accept his siblings' decision. He looked at them, and they seemed resolute."Okay, I understand," John said, trying to sound brave.Michael nodded, a small smile on his face. "We'll do our best to support you, John. We promise."John smiled weakly, feeling a sense of uncertainty about his future. Little did he know, his siblings' promise would soon be put to the test...*Chapter Three: Betrayal*John's siblings promised to support him through secondary school, but as the years went by, their promises began to fade. They would often find fault in John's actions, and their treatment of him became increasingly harsh.Despite this, John worked hard and excelled in school. He had dreams of becoming a successful businessman one day. But as he approached the end of his secondary school education, his siblings' behavior towards him became more and more cruel. One day, Michael called John into his room and told him that he would not be able to continue supporting him through school. "You're old enough to take care of yourself, John," Michael said. "It's time for you to start working and contributing to the family."John was devastated. He had worked hard to get to this point, and he knew that he had the potential to do great things. But his siblings seemed determined to hold him back."What about your promise?" John asked, feeling a sense of betrayal."We did our best, John," Michael said coldly. "But we can't keep supporting you forever. You need to learn to take care of yourself."John felt tears prick at the corners of his eyes. He knew that he had no choice but to accept his siblings' decision. He left Michael's room, feeling defeated and alone. The next day, John's siblings informed him that he would be going to the village to work on the family farm. John was horrified. He had always dreamed of going to university and becoming a successful businessman, not working on a farm.As John packed his bags and prepared to leave for the village, he couldn't help but feel that his siblings were betraying him. They were supposed to be taking care of him, not abandoning him to a life of hard labor...

Chapter One: The Family Tragedy*John's life was forever changed on a fateful day when tragedy struck his family. His father, a polygamous man, had married multiple wives, with John's mother being the last wife. John's father had five children with his first wife, and they were all grown up and successful. John's mother, on the other hand, had only one child - John, the last born.Despite the differences in their children's ages and accomplishments, John's father loved and cared for all of them equally. He worked hard to provide for his family and ensure that each child received the best education possible. But fate had other plans. One day, John's parents were involved in a fatal car accident that claimed their lives. The news sent shockwaves through the family, and the children were devastated. The first wife's children were old enough to understand the gravity of the situation, but John, being just a child himself, struggled to come to terms with the loss of his parents. He was only a few years old at the time, but the memories of that day would stay with him forever. The family gathered for the funeral, and the first wife's children took charge, making arrangements for the burial and other logistics. They promised to take care of John, the youngest sibling, and ensure that he received the support he needed to grow and succeed. As the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, John's siblings began to take on more responsibilities. The eldest sibling, a brother named Michael, became the de facto head of the family. He was kind and responsible, but also strict and demanding.Despite the challenges, John found solace in his siblings' care. They did their best to provide for him, and John grew up knowing that he was loved and supported. But as he grew older, John began to realize that his siblings' promises were not always kept...As John grew older, he began to notice that his siblings' treatment of him wasn't entirely equal to that of their own children. They provided for his basic needs, but when it came to education and opportunities, John felt like he was always an afterthought.Despite this, John was a bright and determined child. He worked hard in school and excelled in his studies. His siblings would often boast about his achievements to their friends and family, but John couldn't shake off the feeling that they didn't truly care about his well-being.One day, John's eldest brother, Michael, sat him down and explained that the family's financial situation wasn't as stable as it seemed. "John, we're doing our best to take care of you, but you need to understand that we're not getting any younger. You need to start thinking about your future and how you're going to take care of yourself," Michael said.John listened intently, unsure of what to make of his brother's words. He knew he was lucky to have siblings who were willing to take him in, but he couldn't help feeling like a burden. As John entered his teenage years, he began to feel a sense of restlessness. He wanted to be independent and take care of himself, but he didn't know where to start. His siblings seemed to have their lives together, and John felt like he was just trying to catch up.Little did John know, his life was about to take a dramatic turn. One day, Michael called a family meeting to discuss John's future. John had no idea what to expect, but he knew it wouldn't be good.
