Lila is the protagonist of the story. She inherits a summer house from her grandmother and decides to escape from the city to find solace there. Ryan is the other main character, whom Lila meets while exploring the woods. He is a painter who is also seeking inspiration for his next project. As they spend more time together, they both develop feelings for, and eventually, they fall in love.
