STANLEY'S JOURNEY: THE POOL OF RIVALRY
Updated at Aug 12, 2026, 14:20
Stanley Haesin grows up in the peaceful farming kingdom of Ankre, where every aspect of life is governed by discipline, tradition, and service to the community. Under the guidance of his father, Haesin, Stanley learns that true strength is measured not by raw power, but by responsibility, diligence, and the willingness to place the needs of the nation above one’s own. As Stanley journeys through Ankre, he witnesses the kingdom’s unique customs and sacred institutions. He experiences the Ritual of the Earth, the Holy State, the King’s Council, and the grand Okeoja Festival, where the people renew their covenant with their ancestors and celebrate the unity that has preserved Ankre for generations. Throughout these experiences, one mysterious declaration continually captures his attention: "To the might of one voice... may we thrive for ages." Unable to grasp its true meaning, Stanley searches for answers. His quest leads him from the quiet waters of the Ogujo River to the bustling village square, and up to the lonely heights of Igbaja Mountain. Yet each location deepens his questions rather than resolving them. Gradually, he concludes that the only way to understand Ankre’s hidden strength is to join the institution that protects it—the Ankre Army Unit. His arrival at the military camp is far from seamless. Mistaken for an intruder, he is brought before and questioned by the General. Introduced to a harsh world where discipline outweighs comfort and every privilege must be earned, Stanley encounters a commander who is as much a philosopher as a warrior. The General teaches him that fate is shaped by choices, power carries duty, and weakness invites vulnerability. Determined to prove his worth, Stanley endures rigorous training under seasoned officers. His greatest trial comes when he is paired against Mitus, the camp’s most feared swordsman. Rather than relying purely on strength, Stanley leans into observation, patience, and instinct. Against all odds, he defeats Mitus, astonishing the entire camp. The victory earns Stanley far more than recognition. The General officially accepts him into the Ankre Army Unit, bestowing upon him the sword, uniform, and tablet that mark his new identity as a soldier. Yet Stanley views his triumph differently. Rather than seeing Mitus as a fallen rival, he recognizes him as the force that opened the door to his future—understanding that victory is not the conclusion of a rivalry, but the beginning of responsibility.
