Lycans were not made to be alone. They require a mate to share their life journey, to procreate and to build a pack. Mates must be loyal, supportive, understanding and honest, committed to the union that makes them one. While all matings are a serious matter, that of an Alpha requires extra consideration. The dual role of Alpha and mate are both equally demanding. Too much emphasis on either position can create an imbalance that is detrimental to either the pack or the mated couple. For this reason, an Alpha must choose wisely, factoring in both the needs of the heart and pack, lest the choice cause dissension.
