Pov Tessa I walk into the room, and I see that my dad is in a meeting with other Alphas, but he waves me to walk over to him. "Dad, can you play with me when you're done?" I ask. "Tessa how many times do you have to be told that you can not come into meetings and ask stupid questions you little brat!" My older brother, Prince James hisses at me. "How many times do I have to tell you not to treat your sister that way?!" My father says as he slaps him. "You are to treat your sister with respect as she is the princess and as she treats you with respect." "Fine" he mumbles as he goes back to listening to the meeting. I send my brother a glare, and go back to looking at my dad as he says, "Yes my little girl, ill play with you after the meeting, just be patient," he says and pats me on the head. "Thank you, father!" I say and go sit in a corner of the room and try not to be disruptive to the meeting. I sometimes cannot be in the meetings because of my young age, 12, but, there are times when my father doesn't make me leave the room and today is one of them. When the meeting is over, my dad walks over to me with a large smile on his face. "Now, what kinds of games do you want to play my sweet one?" my dad asks me, with a seemingly energetic tone, but I could tell that he was very tired. "Actually father, I had a question" "And what might that be?" "Well, I was wondering if I could start to train, everyone else is able to start when they are pups" "Tessa, you're a princess! You should never have a need to fight, you will be a queen one day, and you will have your pack and family to protect you" my father said sternly. My brothers walked over, hearing our conversation, and James says, "Father, you're spoiling her, you let her do whatever she pleases and she is a brat because of that." Our father glares daggers at him and says, "She is a princess, of course she can do what she wants, and your disrespect will not be forgotten. Now, you boys know because of my condition, that there is a chance that I might go any day now, and you boys need to promise me that you will protect your sister, the princess, no matter what happens." Both of the boys had a confused look on their faces, and I watched them process what our father told them not fully understanding his words. After a moment, Mathew, the middle sibling, replies saying "Of course father, we will do anything in our power to protect our sister, the princess." I watched as my dad's face relaxed as he turned back to me, but after a moment he had a look of pain on his face, and then I felt as if something had struck my chest. I quickly realized that I must be feeling my father's pain, and I watched as my father fell to the floor. In my confusion, I started to cry and looked around the room to see everyone's faces; they all had a look of astonishment as my father lay motionless on the ground. "Is...is father dead?!" I cry out to my brothers. "HE was never your father you little brat" Mathew spat at me, "You are just a lost dog he found dumped in the forest, you're not royalty and you never were," he said as he dragged me away from our father. I struggled against him pulling me out of the room, and I get my arm free from his grip and run to my room crying. ********

For as long as I could remember, it's always been dad and I, although pictures show that I once had a mom and sister, but I think they're long gone. I sometimes wonder what happened to them, although only when I see the pictures. Dad always said it didn't matter that they left us, that we were better off, but sometimes I wonder what it would have been like to have a mother. In our pack, it's uncommon for people to leave, it's honestly uncommon for most packs to have people leave, and when they do, we normally have little to no contact with them. Although that depends on where they go when they leave. My pack, the Mountain Star pack, is one of the larger packs in the area, although the cause of this, other packs in the area don't always get along with us. We are allies with few packs, but that's enough for us to not be attacked by enemy packs or rouges. I don't really have a lot of friends, mostly because people see me as a freak because of my mom leaving my family. It's not something normal, so I understand why it happens. I have two friends, Ash and Mya, and we've been at the hip for as long as I can remember. Even though my life has been rough, it hasn't been terrible. I have my dad, and my friends, and that's enough for me. It always has been, and always needs to be, and I know that I have to work hard to get where I want to go.

I've always stayed in my family's castle. I have never been allowed to leave its high walls for my 20 years of life, and I never thought that I would be able to. I've always been sick, and weak. Same as my mother was, and it was the reason for her death. My father has always been ashamed of me for that; at least that's what he's told me. He always told me that I should be ashamed for how poor my health is and that I will never find a husband for that reason. Although that changed in the flash of an eye one day, and I was told that I was going to be married later in the week to a knight. When my father brought up the news, he beat me and told me that if I messed up this marriage that he would do worse than he did that day.
