The Hunted School

I thought suspension was the worst thing that could happen to me. I was wrong. When I, Henrietta Solomon, returned to Rose Secondary School, Benin City — a boarding and day school on Sapele Road — three girls were missing. Teachers said they ran away. But I saw blood on the old lab floor.Every Friday by midnight, the bell in the abandoned block rings, even though there is no bell there. And every Friday, one girl disappears.I found the list in the principal's office. Seventeen names. All girls. All marked HUNTED. My best friend Blessing was number 14. I am number 17 — NEXT.Now I must cut grass around the same old block as punishment. The same block where girls never return from.Who is hunting us? And why is my name on the list?
