MY MATE The Lycan Hybrid Princess

Our supernatural society is divided into several kingdoms, each shaped by its own laws, customs, and traditions. These differences give our world its complexity. Some kingdoms are built on strict hierarchy, where rank determines influence and respect. Others value equality, placing unity and fairness above title or status. Together, these contrasting systems shape how communities govern themselves, how members interact, and how power is understood across the supernatural realm. In certain kingdoms, especially within some wolf packs, rank carries enormous weight. Wolves without a defined position may be treated as less important, while higher-status wolves often hold greater authority and influence. In these communities, hierarchy is not just tradition; it shapes respect, access, and daily life within the pack. Other kingdoms take a more egalitarian approach. In these territories, wolves are expected to be treated with dignity regardless of rank or position. This creates a stronger sense of belonging and encourages cooperation across the community, reinforcing the idea that every member has value. Customs can change dramatically from one territory to another. One kingdom may enforce rigid rank structures, while another may emphasize shared responsibility and equal standing. Because of this, no single rulebook defines supernatural society as a whole. Each domain must be understood on its own terms, through the values and traditions that guide its people. Hollywood’s version of us is usually simplified and sensationalized—bloodthirsty werewolves, sparkling vampires, or cartoonish witches. The truth is more layered. Our rules, our bonds, and our history are complicated, and most of us survive by staying careful and staying quiet. The Lycan Race: Three Forms • Human form: what we look like most of the time • Full wolf form: massive, fast, and built for survival • Lycan form: the powerful, “movie-inspired” shape—high-ranking Lycans can still speak in this state A complete transformation is possible, but it’s intense—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Within the supernatural hierarchy, many werewolves consider Lycans the higher order—and both species age far more slowly than humans. That longevity leaves us with long memories, and not all of them are kind. Events like the Salem Witch Trials cut deep. Real witches were executed, families were destroyed by false accusations, and the lesson carried forward: visibility can be deadly. That history is why modern supernatural communities are cautious and secretive. In the United States, the supernatural world is divided into three major kingdoms, each ruled by a leading family. This system predates European settlement and has long helped maintain order across vast territories with distinct customs and traditions. Regional Governance • Eastern Kingdom: governs the eastern United States, extending from the Canadian border down to the Florida Keys, along the Atlantic Coast, and across all territories east of the Mississippi River. • Central Kingdom: governs the Central States, maintaining order across the heartland and overseeing territories between the Eastern and Western Kingdoms. • Western Kingdom: governs the Western States, stretching to the Pacific Ocean and overseeing territories along the Pacific Coast. Independent Northern Territories Unlike the other regions, the Northern States maintain their own supernatural task forces. These groups operate independently—separate from the main ruling families—and handle local enforcement and emergencies in the far North. My family and team oversee the region stretching from the Mason–Dixon Line down to the Florida Keys, covering every state east of the Mississippi River within our kingdom. We maintain supernatural order whenever local packs cannot—or will not—resolve their own problems. • Investigating violations of kingdom laws • Stabilize packs when leadership or communication breaks down • Step in against elites when a situation becomes dangerous Personal Introduction My name is Jean. I’m a Lycan–Witch hybrid, and on October 8th, I turn seventeen. My family calls me Jeannie, but most people know me as Jean. Even though I’m young, I lead my own team—a small pack trained to handle the work other packs avoid. I have always known I was adopted, but understanding the truth behind it came later. My life began with tragedy: my birth mother was murdered only minutes after I was born. When I turned thirteen, my mom finally told me what happened in the moments after my birth. I still do not know who killed my biological mother, or whether one person or several were responsible. That unanswered loss has stayed with me ever since, sharpening my resolve and shaping my sense of justice. I’m determined to find who killed her. And when I finally face the people responsible, they won’t be able to hide behind silence or distance anymore.
