BETWEEN GOODBYE AND FOREVER
Updated at Nov 19, 2025, 04:02
It all started with a letter. Annabel Rhodes, a gifted writer, began receiving handwritten letters from an unknown sender. Initially, she thought it was from one of her fans, but as she read the first letter filled with intimate information, one person came to mind - Davis Cole, the man who left her without a goodbye. Annabel is now engaged to a man one would call a perfect gentleman -Daniel Pierce. His patience, support, and love have helped her rebuild her life, filling the vacuum Davis Cole left. But little does she know that Davis’ life has been one with several ups and downs. After a narrow escape from a vital accident, he wakes up in a hospital surrounded by his wife, mother, and brother, whose fear of losing him was finally allayed, only to be faced with another shocking news- he had lost his memory. Everyone seems devastated except Davis. The moment he woke up and saw his wife, he desired nothing more than an escape. Thinking less of the implications of his action, he feigned amnesia. When he looked at Victoria and called her Annabel, everyone assumed it was just a reaction to the shock of the accident. But it was a deliberate and desperate move to escape from a marriage he wanted to leave. Victoria could only stand his drama for a little while, as her marriage had been lifeless for as long as she could remember. Driven by his absence and emotional distance, she sought affection in the hands of Adrian Wells, the rich owner of The Glass House Gallery where Annabel sold her artwork. Williams, believing his brother Davis has lost his memory, discovered a box of letters while checking for hospital bills. Surprisingly, the letters were addressed to the same woman he kept calling his wife, Annabel, but never sent them. It bore the weight of unexpressed love and desire for what seems lost. In an attempt to help his brother regain his memory, he began mailing the letter anonymously to Annabel, hoping she would find his brother and probably help him regain his memory. Annabel’s world had experienced some level of tranquility, especially with the support of her fiancé, until she started receiving letters that dug out the past she wanted to bury and rekindled the fire she had quenched. While fighting to keep her emotions in check, she receives a message from a potential client who requested to meet. At the same hour, Williams convinces Davis to go out with him to get a feel of the outside world. Their meeting feels like fate, but unknown to them, it was arranged. When Annabel looks up and sees Davis, her heart stops. Many thoughts ran through her mind, the man she thought was dead is alive. Williams excused them to talk, but just as they began to talk, Victoria walked in. Davis, caught off guard, introduces Annabel as an old friend, but Annabel feels she has seen her face before, but couldn’t tell at the moment. After some days, she remembered she had seen her passionately kissing Adrian Wells in the gallery, but she decided to keep it to herself. Even after their meeting, the letters still kept coming. She didn’t know what to feel. Why does he keep sending the letters when he is married? When she confronts him, he says nothing at first, as he was also not aware his brother was sending the letters, but he didn’t fail to admit it was a true reflection of how he feels. Davis discovers the truth, and Williams feels betrayed, too. He realizes he never lost his memory; he was only a pawn in Davis’s games. Victoria leaves as her affair with Adrian was exposed. Davis seeks to regain Annabel’s trust, and Annabel finally faces the truth about her feelings. At first, she was certain she wanted to keep the past in the past, but as she received a final letter, she was caught in the web of confusion. One that led her into a tough decision. Standing before Daniel, she tells him calmly, “You deserve a woman who would love you as much as you love her. I am not sure I am capable of that.” She begins again and this time she chooses herself.
