Inikpi is a collection of stories. The particular one I have chosen to submit for this competition is titled "Ayisha." The story revolves around a female character called AYISHA. The story starts with Ayisha as a 12 years old househelp to a very rich and influential man, ALHAJI MUSA IDRIS. Out of lust, Idris rapes her and gets her pregnant. To cover his crime, he sends Ayisha back to her poor parents and bribes them with some cows and cash gifts not to expose him. Ayisha gives birth to a male child she names SULEMAN. Due to Idris' refusal to contribute to his education and the poverty of her parents, Suleman is sent to an Islamic school to live, learn to read the Quran and beg for alms to survive. This is known as the Almajiri system in Islam. Events take drastic turns and Suleman ends up the leader of a terror group known as the Boko Haram sect. How he operates, reunites with his parents and ends are what make this story mind blowing.
