When Darien a guard for the Mickan dynasty castle working to repay his family's debt is attacked by a masked assassin suspicions rise as to what lies beyond the Dungeon's doors he's been guarding, Dame Erska a king's knight assigned to the dungeon along with another guard as it becomes a magnet for mercenaries and rogue mages. All the while Darien continues discover his innate magical gifts which he uses to protect a long held secret, leading to a confrontation between the castle guards and powerful unknown enemies in a feat to protect the castle and ultimately their kingdom.
