Every Sunday evening, the Martinez family gathered at Grandma Rosa’s house for dinner. It had been a tradition for as long as anyone could remember. The house was always filled with the smell of slow-cooked stew, fresh tortillas, and the sweet scent of cinnamon tea.For years, the laughter of children and the chatter of adults filled the small dining room. Grandma Rosa, the heart of the family, sat at the head of the table, watching over her children and grandchildren with a warm smile.But tonight was different. Tonight, the chairs were filled, but the air was heavy. Grandma Rosa had passed away a week ago. Yet, the family still came together, just as she would have wanted.At first, there was silence as they ate. No one knew how to begin, how to fill the empty space she left behind.
