However, beneath the luxury and comfort, Sandra struggles with family pressure and the lack of freedom to make decisions about her own life. Her father, Chief Richard, expects her to join the family business and follow the path he has chosen for her. Sandra dreams of starting her own media business and living according to her own choices. With the support of her friend Amaka and her childhood friend David, she decides to pursue her dream despite her father's opposition. Along the way, she faces difficulties, including financial struggles, family conflict and pressure to marry a man she does not love. Sandra's journey teaches her that wealth cannot buy happiness, freedom or genuine love. Eventually, her father realizes that protecting his daughter does not mean controlling her life. Sandra succeeds in building her career and gains her family's acceptance while finding love with David. The story highlights the importance of independence, family, courage, love and the freedom to choose one's own path. It shows that a person can have wealth and comfort and still face struggles that are invisible to others.

MY BOSS

MY BOSSChapter One: The Girl at the Bus StopThe rain started just as Amara reached the bus stop. She pulled the thin shawl around her shoulders and looked up at the dark sky. Water had already soaked her slippers, and the small nylon bag she carried was becoming heavier with every drop. She checked her phone.7:18 a.m.She was already late for work."Please, not today," she whispered.Amara had been working as a cleaner at a small restaurant for almost two years. The salary was barely enough to survive, but she had no choice. She was twenty-two years old, with no parents and no wealthy relative to call for help. Her father had died when she was twelve. Her mother followed three years later after a long illness.Since then, life had been a constant struggle. She had dropped out of school because there was no money for her fees. Her younger brother, Daniel, was still in secondary school, and Amara had made it her responsibility to keep him there.Every morning, she woke before dawn, cooked their food, cleaned their tiny room and hurried to work.Every evening, she returned exhausted. But she never complained in front of Daniel. She wanted her brother to believe that life could still become better.A bus finally arrived.Amara raised her hand, but before she could enter, several people pushed past her."Move!"She stumbled backward."Sorry," she said. The bus drove away.Amara sighed."Wonderful."She began walking. As she crossed the road, she noticed a man standing beside a black car.He was tall, neatly dressed and holding a black umbrella. He appeared to be in his early thirties. His clothes were simple but expensive-looking.He was watching her.Amara ignored him.She had learned not to trust strangers."Excuse me," the man called. She stopped but did not turn around."Yes?""You dropped something."She looked down. Her small notebook was lying on the wet ground."Oh."She hurried back and picked it up."Thank you."The man handed it to her.As she reached for it, a page fell open. The man accidentally saw what was written inside. It was not a shopping list or a diary entry. It was a short story. He looked at her."Did you write this?"Amara quickly closed the notebook."Yes.""You write stories?""Sometimes.""Are you a writer?"She laughed nervously."No.""Why not?""Because writers need time to write."The man studied her."What's your name?""Amara.""I'm Daniel."She nodded."Nice to meet you."He looked at her soaked clothes."Where are you going?""Work.""What do you do?""I'm a cleaner."Daniel looked surprised."Do you like it?"Amara smiled."It's work."He noticed that she was shivering."You should get into my car. I'll take you.""No, thank you.""Why?""I'll be fine.""I won't kidnap you."She smiled slightly."I didn't say that.""You were thinking it."She laughed. For the first time that morning, Amara felt a little less miserable.Daniel pointed toward the car."Come on. You're already late."After a moment, she entered.During the journey, they talked.Daniel discovered that Amara had once been an excellent student but had dropped out after losing her parents."You stopped school?""Yes.""Why?""There was nobody to pay the fees.""What about university?"Amara laughed."University was never an option.""What would you have studied?"She looked out the window."Mass communication.""Why?""I love writing. I also like telling people's stories."Daniel remained quiet. When they reached the restaurant, Amara thanked him and opened the door. Before she left, he said, "Keep writing."She turned."What?""Your stories. Keep writing them."Amara smiled."I will."She stepped out.She did not know that the stranger who had given her a ride that morning would soon change her life.Chapter Two: My New BossThree weeks later, Amara was cleaning tables at the restaurant when the manager called her."Amara!"She hurried over."Yes, sir?""There is someone asking for you.""Me?""Yes."She entered the manager's office.Daniel was sitting there. She stopped in surprise."You?"He smiled."Hello, Amara.""What are you doing here?""I own this restaurant."Her mouth opened."You do?"He laughed."Yes."Amara suddenly became nervous."I'm sorry if I have done something wrong.""You haven't.""Then why are you here?""I have a job for you."She stared at him."What kind of job?"Daniel placed a file on the table."I run a media and communications company. We are looking for someone who can write creatively and understand ordinary people's experiences."Amara looked at the file."Me?""You."She shook her head."But I don't have a degree.""I know.""I've never worked in an office.""I know.""Then why me?""Because I read what you wrote in that notebook."Amara became silent."I want you to work for me as a junior content writer."She stared at him."You
