A young woman reaching her mid-20s struggles her normal day-to-day problems: from identity crises and customer service jobs to family cold wars and investment dilemmas, she slaves away at adulting and adjusting into society. But this is one of Prince’s works — we wouldn’t be able to leave a female protagonist not completely fitted out for war! My first modern-day scribble, please give some love <3

The story follows Astris d’Sol in a jarred sequence of snippets of the present and flashbacks of the past. In the current, her name is one that is whispered in fear and reverence among her kind - in the past, she was a peasant beastling, abandoned at birth to rot under the abuse of slave-driving beast lords. Throughout the chapters, we see her burning on nothing but willpower to climb to the top of their ranks; and in the process, fall in love with the same human over and over again at his every re incarnation.
