Cut Off the Three MillionUpdated at Oct 26, 2026, 17:56
I stayed by Aziel Wistar's side from his days as an intern until he became project manager.
The night he won the bid, I had ordered a cake, planning to tell him, "My father has agreed to allocate an additional thirty million in investment for you."
Before I even stepped into the private room, I received a message from him.
Aziel: Riley, we aren't right for each other. Let's break up.
The next second, I heard him laughing at someone beside him. "She's just a girl from the countryside. What does she have besides the ability to stay up late revising proposals? The vice president, Langley's daughter, has taken a liking to me. If I marry her, the vice president position will be mine."
I dropped the cake into the trash and immediately called my father. "Dad, pull all funding from the project Aziel is leading."
Later, at the celebration banquet, he stood proudly toasting with the wealthy Langley daughter on his arm.
I pushed the doors open and walked in, with the entire board of directors behind me.
Aziel's face went deathly pale.
I looked at him and smiled. "Manager Wistar, let's start over. I'm Riley Waverly, the sole heir to Everlast Group."
