Two police officers are seen discussing the extent to which their jobs have changed. They make fun of the commercial that one of their coworkers had shot just the other week depicting how nonviolent responses are reshaping culture, conflict, and the likes. They return home after a short shift of helping the elderly cross streets, checking expired tags on cars, and essentially resorting to the life of meter maids. Since getting the death gene, none of them can dare to even be near a gun. Prologue ends with one of them talking about their new partner and how excited they are to get back home. As the conversation veers off in this direction, they begin to feel sick and it progresses rapidly. Within a minute or two, they buckle over and die. All the signs point towards the activation of the death gene. For an unknown reason, they had wanted to commit a violent act…or had they?

Katniss is eliminated through the Pack of the Midnight Sun and presented to a presence of outrageous hopelessness. She is tortured and beaten seriously till her deliverer, Alpha Rolf who is the offspring of the top of the Pack of the Midnight Sun proposes up in her reality with the wish to retailer her from her awfulness.
