The Gilded Coil

One night, a girl woke up in an unfamiliar place—resting on a bed of dry leaves, surrounded by towering trees that seemed to block out the sky. The forest was silent, yet it held an air of having waited for her arrival. While searching for a way out, she encountered an elderly woman with shoulder-length white hair who took her hand without saying a word. The woman led her to an old wooden house hidden deep within the woods. However, upon stepping inside, she was startled by the sight of an extraordinary giant serpent: its upper body was pitch black, its lower body shimmered with gold, and a crown rested upon its head. The serpent’s gaze felt alive, as if it recognized her. Seized by fear, she ran to find the old woman, only to discover that she had vanished without a trace. There was no escape. Hesitantly, she returned to the wooden house. Inside, the walls were lined with worn, black-and-white photographs. Strangely, each image seemed to hold an unfinished story. The faces within them looked hauntingly familiar—including someone who bore a striking resemblance to her, even though the photo dated back to a time she could not possibly have lived through. From that moment on, the boundary between dream and reality began to blur. Questions arose: who was that mysterious old woman? Why was the crowned serpent waiting for her? And what secrets lay hidden within the wooden house and the old photographs that seemed to be calling her name? As she set out to unravel the mystery, she was forced to confront an ancient legacy, a curse spanning generations, and a destiny that had chosen her long before she was even born.
