Honesty in Hard Times
Updated at May 5, 2026, 19:21
In the bustling city of Lagos, where survival often requires a compromise, Francis is presented as a man of modest means but of extraordinary dignity. A delivery driver navigating chaotic traffic and endless responsibilities, bears the burden of late rent, mounting hospital bills, his children's college tuition, and the impending cost of his wife's impending birth. Every day is a fight against poverty and every night you stay awake wondering how long it can last.  One evening, fate throws its way: an elegant leather wallet full of money, credit cards and the ID of a rich business executive. The money it contains can solve all pressing problems: pay the rent, cover medical expenses, provide for the education of your children and prepare for the arrival of your newborn. His wife sees him as a miracle, a divine gift meant to lift them out of despair. But François sees something else: a test of integrity.  What follows is a moral conflict hanging between survival and principle. His wife's fiery words attack his refusal to keep the money, calling him the "Minister of Poverty" and mocking his commitment to honesty. However, Francis remains determined, convinced that dignity cannot be bought and that teaching the truth to your children is worth more than any ill-gotten wealth. His calmness in the face of ridicule becomes his strength and his burden.  The story takes a dramatic turn when Francis returns the wallet to its rightful owner, Mr. Adewale, a respected executive. At first he receives no reward, only skepticism and mistrust from his wife, which unleashes a storm of deep-seated insults. But luck did not end with Francesco. A few weeks later, a phone call changes everything. Mr. Adewale publicly honors Francis' honesty, offering him a steady job, a generous salary and control that transforms his family's fortune. Other admirers present themselves with gifts and opportunities, demonstrating that integrity, though costly at first, yields rewards beyond imagination.  Honesty in Hard Times is more than a story of misery and temptation: it is a powerful exploration of human values, resilience and the transformative power of truth. It captures the raw emotions of a struggling family, the fiery conflict between practicality and principle, and the ultimate triumph of character over circumstance. Francesco's journey, from ridicule to respect, from despair to dignity, reminds us that honesty is not only the best policy: it is the foundation on which lasting legacies are built.

The Hidden Treasure
Updated at May 2, 2026, 15:31
The Hidden Treasure is a timeless parable about the value of hard work, unity, and self-reliance. It tells the story of an old farmer who, on his deathbed, reveals to his three idle sons that a great treasure lies hidden within their estate. Though he passes away before explaining further, his words ignite hope and determination in the brothers.  Driven by the promise of riches, they dig tirelessly across the fields, enduring exhaustion, conflict, and frustration. At first, they find nothing and nearly give up. But with guidance from a wise villager, they begin to sow seeds into the freshly turned soil. Months later, the land yields an abundant harvest, far greater than they had ever seen.  In that moment, the brothers realize the true treasure their father spoke of: not gold or silver, but the rewards of labor, the dignity of self-reliance, and the wealth that comes from time well spent. The story beautifully illustrates that life’s greatest riches are found not in material possessions, but in discipline, perseverance, and the fruits of honest work.
