A band of ten rogue vampires assembled secretly in the thick mountains of Virginia. Set on changing the Spirit of the Dead Laws, they form a plan that will have every ancient vampire descend on them. The leader of the rogue vampires, Jacob, realizes she is his life mate. Swears to protect her, offers her a choice to decide if she wants to be turned. Jacob’s vampire lover, Elizabeth, promises revenge, promises to kill Wendy when the time is right.      The war starts between the ancient vampires and the rogue vampires. Death is everywhere. During the war, Elizabeth sneaks up on Wendy, unprotected, extracts her claws, and slices Wendy open. Jacob turns Wendy seconds before she dies a horrible death.
