Following a protracted Mafia war that saw the Luca and Morello crime families going up against the Cabellos, for about half a decade, the Sicilian streets experienced a bloodbath. The Cabellos were worse hit in the feud, as their ranks were fully depleted, signaling a seeming end to the bloodshed. This outcome prompted the families to reach a truce. The marriage of a Cabello and Morello was agreed upon. Antonio's (head of the Morello crime family) marriage to Mariana Cabello truly ended the feud but opened the doors to a much bigger conflict. Meanwhile, Mariana's ambition of restoring her already diminished family name and honour, motivates her to engage in a secret love affair with Antonios arch nemesis - Cassio, head of the Luca crime family. The marriage eventually hits the rocks with Antonio seeking a way out of the union. He realises that longer he stayed in the relationship, the higher the chances of his death.He therefore seeks salvation and this comes in the form of Lily Rossi, daughter of an indebted restaurant owner, Giovanni. She is offered by her father as collateral for his debt and forcefully abducted by the Morello crime family - the syndicate he obtained the loan from. Although, the debt was incurred during the leadership of Don Ricci Morello, (father of Antonio), Antonio leverages on this to forcefully abduct Lily and apprehend her in his palatial abode.Not only does he seek to exploit her sexuality to satisfy his desires, he grooms her for the life of organised crime. They both go through a series of situations which hardens her and prepares her for what is to come. During this time, Antonio falls in love with Lily. Mariana observes the trend and decides to up her plot a notch by setting Lily up. The plan is to fake her poisoning with the intention of pitching Lily as the culprit. Antonio sees through the charade and in turn fakes Lily's death. She is able to use her anonymity to uncover the conspiracy between Mariana and Carlo to eliminate Antonio. Mariana is eventually killed in the ensuing feud between Carlo and Antonio. Carlo on his part is exiled to a life in Sicily.Lily is offered her freedom and she is eventually married to Antonio. The debt is cancelled and Giovanni, her father, is free to run his business without fear.
