Cassiopeia "Cassie" Nichols is a shy, intelligent, young woman who has just found out that her mother plans to marry Brad Staples, one of the wealthiest men in town. Unfortunately, along with Brad comes his son Chetum, an entitled rich boy who is used to using his volatile personality to manipulate others. When Cassie and Chetum are forced to live together while also attending the same college they are constantly at odds with one another until Chetum reveals a secret he has been holding onto for years. Cassie shares feelings she has about her father's death that nobody else knows.
