Down to Rest
Updated at Oct 7, 2025, 12:51
She’s done surviving for everyone else. Now she’ll live for herself—even if it kills her. Kylee has always kept her head down. At school, she’s invisible. At home, she’s broken—caught between a stepfather’s rage and a mother who refuses to see the damage. The only way to cope is silence. Numbness. Disappearing. But then Price moves in next door. He’s all wrong for her: too charming, too curious, too determined to see what she’s worked so hard to bury. Still, Kylee can’t help but let him in. And with Price comes something else—something she can’t explain. Scratches on her skin she didn’t make. Whispers in the night she swears aren’t hers. Visions of a girl who looks just like her, begging to be remembered. As her grip on reality frays, Kylee must choose: stay hidden in the shadows of her pain, or face a truth darker than she ever imagined. Because someone is watching her. Someone who wants her to forget. But this time, Kylee won’t be anyone’s ghost. A haunting, emotional slow-burn romance with a twist of the paranormal. Because sometimes the bravest thing a girl can do is write her own heartbeat—and choose to live it out loud.

Displaced from my village, hunted by the king, a woman without a place, I do the only thing I know to do: use magic to conceal my identity. That one choice leads me to the home of King Uther, where he makes me the servant of his son, Prince Arthur. Only Arthur doesn't know I'm a woman. He sees a boy. A servant. A fighter. And he makes me his personal assassin.

Confessions of a (Not-So) Virgin College Sophomore
Updated at Jan 25, 2025, 16:28
I thought spending the summer in Brazil with my ex would be a genius move. After surviving my first year of college, I needed a break. Between a brutal breakup with my college boyfriend, endless coursework for my English major, and a questionable life plan that includes a Portuguese minor, I was desperate for a change of scenery. Enter Tiago, my Brazilian ex-boyfriend, who oh-so-kindly invited me to visit him. For some reason, I said yes. Now I’m in northeastern Brazil, sweating in places I didn’t know could sweat, attempting to string sentences together in Portuguese, and trying really hard to remember why I thought hanging out with Tiago again was a good idea. Don’t get me wrong—Brazil is stunning. The beaches are gorgeous, the food is ridiculously good, and the sunsets are straight out of a postcard. But Tiago? He’s just as charming, infuriating, and impossible to read as ever. And it’s messing with my head. Am I here to move on? To get closure? To maybe (okay, definitely) prove to myself that I can handle this without falling apart? Honestly, I’m not sure. What I do know is that I’m tired of everyone—including myself—telling me who I’m supposed to be. This summer was supposed to be a break. Instead, it’s turning into a crash course in figuring out what I actually want from life—and maybe, who I want to be in it. Set against the colorful chaos of Brazil, this is a story of second chances, messy emotions, and finding the beauty in all the wrong turns.
