Betti doesn't like to think about her life before the Ghetto. When everybody was kind to one another, when her life was stable and carefree, when she didn't have to wear the star of David that marked her as a Jew. They say tomorrow will be kinder, but every day that seems to grow farther and farther from the truth. Especially when large, mysterious trucks start to arrive and take everybody away to an unknown fate.
Eventually, Betti ends up on one of those trucks, and what follows is an eventful struggle for survival. But with a will as strong as iron, an unrelenting spirit and the support of a man she loves, Betti is determined to see the end of this war-at a serious cost. One so big, it may just consume her before her dreams could even have a chance of coming true.
