Lucas doesn't believe in fate. He also doesn't believe in the coincidence that made him the CEO’s personal assistant. To him, Zade was another rude asshole who was abusing his position of power. Zade on the other hand needed a buffer. Although he was curious and definitely attracted to Lucas, he simply needed someone as a distraction to his rivals while he figures out what was causing his company profit levels to fall drastically. Spending too much time together meant feelings developed and while they had something sexual going on, none of them wanted to explore actually having true feelings for each other. Lucas, because he doesn't trust anyone after what happened the last time and Zade because his sexuality will become public knowledge which could cause reactions he doesn't know how to control. Will either of them be willing to compromise and give it a go? Or will it die down and go their separate ways? What happens when a new character is introduced? Someone who's more than willing to change the narrative.
