As the wail of sirens pierced through my mind like a torture device, I forced my eyes open, though barely. Before me lay nothing but an endless, pitch-black void. 🌑 The unbearable pain imprisoning my body tore an involuntary groan from my lips. It felt as though I had fallen from an impossible height and slammed into the ground. I could feel the damp soil, broken branches, and withered leaves beneath me. I was in the heart of a forest—but when, or how, had I arrived here? As my consciousness began to slip through my fingertips, the last thing I heard was that whisper. Weightless, yet so absolute... "You will live..." But what was the price? 🕯️
