Brett Gilliland has been a teacher, administrator, technology director, curriculum director, and a superintendent.
He began his career teaching in an elementary school, in the an urban PA school Distriict, prior to beginning his administrative experiences. Dr. Gilliland graduated from Juniata College, where he attained a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. He received his Principal certificate and Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State Great Valley/ Berks Campus in 1996. Dr. Gilliland received his Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility in 2005 and his Doctorate of Education in July 2007 through the IDPEL Interdisciplinary Program for Educational Leadership from the Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. His doctoral thesis was "Thinking Outside of the Box: Blended Learning as an Alternative to Traditional Learning."
Brett has loved scary movies and books since he was little. He watched Chiller Theatre and many scary movies on Saturday with his grandmother while he was young.
The Game was started as a classroom story that Brett shared with his students in PA in 1993-1995.
