ABOUTquote
My Story My name is Imaan, and if there is one thing that defines me, it is my curiosity. I am the type of person who asks questions about everything. I want to know how things work, why people think the way they do, and what possibilities exist beyond what I can already see. My mind is always searching for new ideas, new adventures, and new stories. I am a dreamer. I spend a lot of time imagining different worlds, different futures, and different versions of myself. Sometimes my imagination takes me into fictional stories filled with romance, adventure, and excitement. Other times it helps me picture the life I want to create for myself. I love exploring possibilities because they make life feel larger and more magical. I care deeply about the people around me. I believe in kindness, loyalty, and standing up for those who need support. I admire people who protect others and use their strength to help instead of harm. Whenever I think about the kind of person I want to become, I always come back to the same qualities: courage, compassion, and determination. I am also someone who enjoys learning. When I become interested in something, I want to understand it completely. Whether it is a recipe, a workout routine, a book, a character, or a new skill, I love asking questions and discovering more. Learning excites me because it makes the world feel endless. One of my favorite things about myself is my enthusiasm. When I love something, I love it wholeheartedly. I get excited easily, laugh easily, and become invested in the things that bring me joy. I do not like experiencing life halfway. I want to feel the excitement, the wonder, and the adventure in every moment. I have goals for myself, and I am always thinking about how I can grow. I want to become stronger, healthier, wiser, and more confident. I understand that growth takes time, but I am willing to keep learning and improving. Every day is another opportunity to become a better version of myself. I appreciate beauty in many forms. I love stories that make me feel something. I love food that brings comfort. I love places that feel warm and welcoming. I love moments that make life memorable. These small joys remind me that happiness can be found in ordinary things. At times, I can be stubborn. When I believe strongly in something, I hold onto it tightly. However, that same determination also helps me stay committed to the things that matter most to me. It pushes me to keep going when things become difficult. I believe that life is meant to be explored. There are so many people to meet, places to see, skills to learn, and experiences to have. I do not want to spend my life standing still. I want to keep discovering, growing, and creating memories that I will cherish forever. Most importantly, I want to live with a heart full of wonder. I never want to lose my curiosity or my ability to dream. Those qualities are a part of who I am.

# WHERE THE LIGHT REMAINS Five years ago, Eli Winslie lost the love of his life. Since then, his world has revolved around two things: his daughter and his duty. A respected army officer, Eli has spent years burying himself in work, convincing himself that moving on would be a betrayal to the woman he still loves. The only light left in his life is his five-year-old daughter, Kira—the little girl who inherited her mother's bright blue eyes and endless capacity for love. Xenia Kingsley never expected her life to lead her here. A twenty-year-old college student struggling to balance her studies, financial responsibilities, and a language she still isn't confident speaking, Xenia takes a job as Kira's nanny to help support her family. What begins as a temporary arrangement slowly becomes something more as she finds herself caring for a little girl who has quietly captured her heart. For Kira, Xenia is more than a nanny. She is the person who helps with homework, wipes away tears, listens to bedtime stories, and fills the silence that has lingered in their home since her mother's death. In Kira's eyes, they already feel like a family. But not everyone welcomes Xenia's place in their lives. When Diana—the younger sister of Eli's late wife—returns, old wounds resurface. Protective of her sister's memory and suspicious of the young woman caring for Kira, Diana is convinced Xenia is trying to take a place that never belonged to her. As tensions rise, secrets are revealed, loyalties are tested, and grief refuses to stay buried. Eli must face the painful truth he's spent years avoiding: loving again does not mean forgetting. And Xenia must decide whether she is brave enough to fight for a place she was never meant to have. A story of loss, healing, family, and second chances, Where the Light Remains is an emotional slow-burn romance about finding hope after heartbreak—and discovering that some lights never truly fade.
