My name is Katelynn M Burkhead. I live in a small town in Iowa with my husband and my dog.
Writing has always been a passion of mine. I began by writing silly little stories - one about a ladybug - and progressed to novels as I got older. The first time I actually completed a novel, I was in high school. It has sat on a shelf for years after that because I got tired of looking at it for a while.
I have many stories that I\'m very excited to share with you guys. I hope you all enjoy them. And I look forward to your feedback as well.

Humans have myths about us. They say a mermaid’s heart is as cold as the ocean itself – and perhaps it is. Some call us Sirens of the Sea. Some call us coldblooded killers. But all of them call us stories.
When Alaina - a reckless mermaid - drowns too many fishermen, the tribe's chief punishes her by giving her legs and sending her to the surface with the humans she despises.
Alaina's only hope for redemption is to find an ancient relic, known as Poseidon's Staff, and return it to her tribe. But not everything is as it seems. And the more time she spends on land, the closer she gets to the humans.
