His Heart Stopped.. Mine Was SoldUpdated at Jul 23, 2026, 22:13
"Marry him. He will be dead before the year ends."
Those were the words Shaznay heard before she signed her life away to Victor Emmanuel, the most powerful man in Glenford, now lying motionless with no hope of recovery. Poisoned at his own board meeting seven months ago, Victor was nothing more than a body connected to machines. A convenient corpse for a desperate girl whose father's life dangled by a thread.
But Victor was not dead. He was not even unconscious.
Trapped inside his own body, Victor heard every whispered scheme, every stolen secret, every act of betrayal committed around his bed. He heard his cousin Benjamin plan to drain his empire. He heard his brother Franklin push for control. And he heard Shaznay, the stranger forced to become his wife, whisper to his sleeping face: "I do not know you, but I will not let them win."
When Victor's eyes finally opened, the world called it a miracle. Only Victor knew the truth. It was a strike seven months in the making.
Now he must decide: Is the woman who married his silence an ally or another enemy wearing a kind face?
And Shaznay must face a new terror: the dead man she married is alive, and he remembers everything.
