"You must know what you're doing." Slate grey eyes met deep burgundy ones, only visible to him, for he could see through the guise of magic. He saw the unbridled instability within their depths, something he hadn't seen since her father drew his last breath. He saw the cool, calculative destruction that she was capable of, something that her father had not possessed, a fatal flaw that had spelled his downfall. For the first time, he saw her as she was. Dipping her head, she lowered her sword, but only allowed the tip to touch the dirt. "Whether or not you settle on your allies does not concern me; with or without you, I will wage a war to tear this world in two." Suriel could not fight. She was unable to conjure any special powers at will, nor was her aim or speed of flight anything to boast about. Relatively new to the city of Luminis, it was obvious that she was out of place. Barely able to keep up with her classmates, Suriel preferred to spend her free time alone exploring the new land and honing the one skill she did have; her music. It was during one of these journeys that she discovered a corpse; rather than an older, decayed body of a poor soul who'd lost his life in the last Great War; this body was fresh. Nor was it the body of a soldier, one of the many who'd helped earn Luminis it's gruesome secondary name. No, this was the body of an Angel in training; one of her classmates.

Sweet Lullaby

Her smokey green eyes sparkled with mirth and mischief as she kneeled in front of her captive, taking in the position she was in with a smirk. Upon realizing that she wasn't going to do it herself, Hunter hooked a finger underneath Cierra's chin, lifting her cinnamon colored eyes to meet her own. Her jaw was clenched, but Hunter could see that she was finally close to breaking. The Detective did not bother to fight against the heavy chains that locked her into her position; kneeling with her knees spread apart, her arms behind her back with her wrists and upper arms bound together. It was a familiar position, one that she knew that she wouldn't be able to escape. One of Hunter's favorites, because all of the marks she'd left behind were on full display. "I'm surprised you've lasted this long," Hunter stated, sounding pleased. "And it's been fun. Unfortunately, I don't think you'll survive tonight."

Fugitive Fascination

She could hear the steady beep beep beep of the heart monitor somewhere, could feel air being forced in and out of her lungs. That was all she knew, and that was all she had known since she had been poured back into her body like pancake mix. Her eyes felt as if they were stuck together by Gorilla Glue; they wouldn't open no matter how much effort she put into the actions. She couldn't even twitch her fingers or her toes. She missed Hunter. That was really her only thought. This is the sequel to Sweet Lullaby.
